How to ditch deodorant and never look back

One of the first things the Holy Spirit started teaching me this past year, was how we need to be careful what we expose our bodies to so we can be in better health. Antiperspirants/Deodorant is full of chemicals, and most have aluminum which is horrible for your body to be absorbing especially on a regular basis. Aluminum has been linked to breast cancer, and affect your hormones, disrupt your microbiome, and all the scents and chemicals are also really bad for your skin to absorb. Our skin is an organ and we need to take better care of it, and not have it absorb chemicals when we can avoid it. I was skeptical of so many claims about natural deodorant and people who wear none, as I used to use it religiously and even the clinical ones. I have a strong aversion to B.O. and wouldn't be willing to smell lol. Some people do go through a few days to a week of a slight smell when they stop using antiperspirant because it blocks your sweat glands and keeps everything locked in so it has to come out. Mine was honestly barely noticeable, but I eat clean and take in little toxins as well, regardless, it is only a few days and well worth it! He led me to make my own, it is so inexpensive, and I smell great, and I am not exposing myself to all those toxins and chemicals anymore, but I don't have to spend $10 and up for a natural one at the store. I buy organic virgin coconut oil at Trader Joe's because it is only $4.99 and I like the quality. I also have many various uses for it in both bath and body care, and the kitchen! Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, soothing, and offers improved skin health as another benefit, along with many other great benefits! In the bible oil is used for health and beauty in many passages. Then I add baking soda to it (I know some people say baking soda has aluminum but that is baking powder not baking soda fyi). I have been using this for about 9 months now and recently started adding a few drops of tea tree oil (also available at Trader Joe's for a great price but there are many places to buy these products). Adding essential oil makes it so you can customize whatever scent you like. I chose tea tree oil because I already had some, and it has great benefits as well, mainly it is antimicrobial and that is important for our under arms where bacteria wants to grow, as well anti-inflammatory, so works for shaved underarms!! I use little Rubbermaid containers (the ramekin/condiment ones) to put about 4 Tablespoons of coconut oil, and 2 Tablespoons of baking soda, then a couple drops of the tea tree oil. It smells like coconut mint chocolate chip to me and who doesn't want their under arms to smell delicious right?! You can really customize it yourself, and if you are a heavy sweater you can adjust by adding a little more baking soda! Also, you can use it for that breast and inner thigh sweating in the summer instead of buying other products!!! It takes less than 3 minutes to make a container and lasts longer than a stick of deodorant, for a fraction of the price, and it is actually good for you to wear, keeps you dry, moisturized, and smelling good! I hope and pray you consider switching for your health and for convenience and to save money also! God provided everything we need and we never need harmful chemicals! Our bodies are temples of The Holy Spirit and we are made in His image, He doesn't want us to be sick and chained to all these products that harm us and soak up our money when He gave us natural products that work better!! God Bless you and Shalom, in Jesus Mighty Name! "
